BE TD VACCINE contains Diphtheria Toxoid and Tetanus Toxoid which belongs to the group of medicines called Vaccines. It is used in adults and children aged 5 years and more as booster medicine for protection against diphtheria and tetanus. Diphtheria is a contagious bacterial infection which infects the nose and throat and, in some cases, the skin also mostly affects children. The symptoms of diphtheria are fever, sore throat, breathing and swallowing difficulty, a thick grey-white coating covering the back of the throat, nose, and tongue, and swollen glands in the neck. Tetanus is a serious bacterial infection that occurs when bacteria enter the body through cuts, burns, animal bites, etc. Symptoms of tetanus infection are lockjaw (jaw muscle stiffness), fever, rapid heartbeat, sweating, and muscle spasms. BE TD VACCINE should not be administered as a primary immunisation against diphtheria and tetanus. BE TD VACCINE administration should be delayed if you or your child is suffering from a moderate or severe acute illness with or without a fever. In patients with compromised immune systems, BE TD VACCINE should be used with caution. BE TD VACCINE should only be used in pregnant women after consulting with a doctor. Before using, consult your doctor. BE TD VACCINE can be used by breastfeeding women. BE TD VACCINE is not recommended for children under the age of five. The most common side effects after receiving BE TD VACCINE are redness and swelling at the injection site, fever, malaise, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, and muscle pain. Consult your doctor right away if any side effects worsen.
