ATIVAN 2MG TABLET contains Lorazepam, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antianxiety agents. It is used to manage anxiety and its associated sleeping difficulties. It can also be used as a sedative before any surgery.
ATIVAN 2MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with lung or liver diseases, myasthenia gravis (very weak or tired muscles), or sleep apnoea (breathing problems while sleeping). It should be used with caution in patients who have kidney diseases, habitual excessive use of drugs or alcohol, personality disorders, depression, a history of psychotic illness, a history of convulsions, or glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye).
ATIVAN 2MG TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women. ATIVAN 2MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. ATIVAN 2MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients. ATIVAN 2MG TABLET should not be used in children below 5 years of age.
The most common side effects of taking this medicine are sedation (sleepiness), drowsiness, fatigue, confusion, dizziness, muscle weakness, or depression. Ask for your doctor’s advice if any of these side effects worsen or don’t improve.
