AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY contains Mometasone which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids. AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY is used to manage the symptoms of hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) and perennial rhinitis in adults and children aged 2 and older. This medicine is also used to manage nasal polyps in adults aged 18 and over.
Hay Fever is an allergic reaction which occurs due to breathing in pollen from trees, grasses, weeds, molds and fungal spores generally characterized by blocked or runny nose, sneezing and coughing.
Perennial rhinitis is an inflammatory condition which occurs due to sensitivity to a variety of things such as house dust mite, animal hair, feathers and certain foods characterized by symptoms such as blocked nose, sneezing, itching that might occur for an hour or more on most days throughout the year.
Nasal polyps are small growths on the lining of the nose which usually affects both nostrils generally characterized by runny nose, and stuffiness.
Avoid using AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY, if you are allergic to Mometasone, and or have an unmanageed infection in your nose such as herpes, recent injury or operation on your nose.
Before using AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if you have kidney, or liver disease. AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY should be used in pregnant women only if it is clearly necessary. It should be used with caution in breastfeeding women.
Your doctor will give the right dose depends on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition. Consult your doctor before using AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY.
The most common side effects of using AQUAMET 0.05% NASAL SPRAY are headache, sneezing, nose bleeds, sore nose or throat, ulcers in the nose and or respiratory tract infection. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms gets worsen.
