ALPRAX FORTE TABLET is a combination of Alprazolam and Sertraline which belongs to the group of medicines called Anxiolytics and Antidepressants respectively. It is used to manage depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other mixed psychiatric conditions.
Before taking ALPRAX FORTE TABLET inform your doctor if you have any problems in your liver, kidneys or heart. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, muscle weakness, breathing problems, depression with suicidal thoughts, any mental illnesses, history of alcoholism or drug abuse, mania, bleeding problems or epilepsy as a precaution.
Do not take ALPRAX FORTE TABLET without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid drinking alcohol or grape fruit juice while taking this medicine as it may increase the risk of side effects.
The most common side effects of taking this medicine are depression, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, forgetfulness, constipation, dry mouth, decreased sex drive, problems in erection, blurred vision, problems in sleeping, weight gain or weight loss, changes in taste and sore throat. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.
You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience any worsening of depression with suicidal thoughts or any other unusual changes in behaviour (such as agitation, restlessness, aggressiveness, irritability, violence or anger).
